Survey: More employers expect to use wellness penalties

The proportion of employers using penalties to influence workers' health habits is expected to be about 40% next year and 61% by the end of 2016, according to Towers Watson. The proportion that use rewards and penalties linked to tobacco use is expected to increase to 71% next year.
