Democrats may scrap plans for fence on U.S.-Mexico border

Democrats might cancel plans for a 698-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexico border once they take control of Congress. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., plans to "revisit" the issue when he becomes chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and notes the Secure Border Initiative is an alternative to fencing.
