Jury: Goodyear must pay lesbian $4.4M for wrongful firing

A jury has returned a $4.4 million judgment against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and a supervisor for allegedly punishing a Washington state lesbian and eventually firing her because of her sexual orientation. Goodyear, which has a nondiscrimination policy prohibiting harassment based on sexual orientation, said it was reviewing whether to appeal the verdict, according to a statement from the company.
