Alaskan natural gas discovery deemed "groundbreaking"

The U.S. Geological Survey today will release "groundbreaking" new research indicating that Alaska's North Slope holds one of the largest deposits of recoverable natural gas in the country. Scientists estimate that 85.4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas can be extracted, more than enough, on average, to heat 100 million average homes for 10 years.
