Obese teens have middle-age arteries

Adolescents who are obese have arteries similar to middle-aged adults, researchers found using ultrasound to measure the thickness of the inner walls of the carotid arteries. Researchers need to study whether weight loss and healthy lifestyle practices could correct the problems, one expert said.
