Report: Indiana drivers whiz on, disregard speed limits

A study by a Purdue University engineering professor of drivers in Tippecanoe County, Ind., where Purdue is located, showed that more than one-third of people think driving 20 miles per hour over the speed limit is acceptable. The study found drivers tend to go slower if they know an area is monitored, but speed up if they don't think they'll get caught.
