DOT chief meets today with aviation leaders

A broad range of aviation leaders, including airport managers, are meeting behind closed doors in Washington today to discuss the state of the industry that has been rocked in recent years by terrorism, disease threats, recession and volatile oil prices. The meeting with Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood was called at the behest of the AFL-CIO, which believes new regulations are needed to shore up airlines and save jobs.
