Microsoft partners with Wolfram Alpha to boost Bing

In an effort to improve Bing's performance in areas including mathematics, health and nutrition, Microsoft has turned to Wolfram Alpha, a "computational knowledge engine" that looks to reimagine search by answering user questions rather than offering lists of links. Bing, which in October claimed a 9.57% search market share in the U.S., per Experian Hitwise data, plans to install unique functions like nutrition tabs on food-related searches to differentiate itself from other search engines.
