Microsoft scuttles Xbox users who play pirated games

In its ongoing push to curb video game piracy, Microsoft has barred thousands of gamers from connecting to Xbox Live after having identified them as modifying their Xbox 360 consoles to play pirated games. Those Xbox 360 owners who have been cut off from Microsoft's Xbox Live service will only be able to reconnect online if they buy a new console.
