Cats get the vote in Purina's social media campaign

About 55% of people in the U.S. prefer cats as pets, while about 45% prefer dogs, according to Purina's America's Pet Debate social media campaign, in which voters posted pictures of dogs or cats with the hashtags #votedog or #votecat on Facebook and Instagram. The campaign, which generated more than 112,000 votes, also raised $112,500 for Pet Partners' veteran programs.
