Leo Burnett goes to court over departing employees

Chicago agency Leo Burnett has filed for a court injunction against eight staffers with Kellogg's experience who left the agency Friday to launch their own. Burnett says the group worked on a multimillion-dollar Kellogg's CRM project at the agency and the client now would be forced to choose between Burnett and the new group. "The timing of the resignations was intentionally designed to maximize the defecting employees' ability to persuade Kellogg's that they were the only people capable of completing the CRM project," Burnett says in its filing.
