Barry Callebaut output exceeds sustainable cocoa demand

Consumer demand for sustainable cocoa products grew 56% in fiscal 2012-2013, and Barry Callebaut announced that 12% of its cocoa volume was sustainable cocoa, more than the market demands, it said. Hershey, Ferrero and Mars have set goals to move to fully sustainable cocoa targets but "[Barry Callebaut believes] it's going beyond setting targets. We aim for a sustainable supply chain," said Raphael Wemuth, head of media relations.
