Expert: Employers with strong wellness programs must lead others

Healthiest Employers CEO Rod Reasen told Michigan companies with successful wellness programs to lead by example because not enough employers are joining the effort. Michigan dropped in the Healthiest Employers index and Beaumont Health System senior vice president Jay Holden said one reason could be increases in chronic disease rates. Priority Health vice president Don Whitford said uncertainty regarding the Affordable Care Act also could be a reason for the drop in wellness programs.
