Human waste powers fuel-cell robot

Microbial fuel cells that use human waste for fuel power a robot that cleans wastewater. The EcoBot III was developed by Wessex Water and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, both based in the U.K. Separately, scientists on a collaborative project say they're developing a waste-driven robot that uses an artificial heart to pump the urine for fuel into a bacterially driven power source.
