Samsung gives developers a look at Tizen OS, first apps

Samsung gave developers attending a conference in South Korea a glimpse at its new Tizen operating system, including applications written specifically for it. Symphony Teleca showed music, social networking, calendar and Bible apps, running on version 2.2. The Tizen OS is slated to be launched next year, Min-Jeong Lee writes, and "will allow developers to design apps with a simpler structure that can easily be converted for usage in devices that go beyond mobile devices, like television sets," Lee writes.
