Texas schools adjust to new focus on college, career readiness

Under recent legislation, most students in Texas will choose one of five tracks: science, technology, engineering and mathematics; business and industry; public services; arts and humanities; or multidisciplinary. The system has some business leaders, educators and others concerned about academic rigor across all tracks. A top concern is whether all students -- regardless of their track -- will be prepared to meet math requirements for college admission.
