Verizon adds location-based ads to NFL partnership

Verizon, as part of its $1 billion National Football League partnership, will place ads on the Foursquare location application after users check in around Baltimore, Boston and Washington. Clicking the Foursquare ads calls up contests involving the cities' NFL teams while highlighting Verizon's FiOS TV coverage of their games. "This is one of the first creative opportunities to tie in location with an event," said Foursquare Chief Revenue Officer Steve Rosenblatt.
