Health care practitioners may reduce free care to uninsured

A report in the journal Health Affairs revealed most private providers can afford to give uninsured patients a free initial visit, but providing subsequent care was increasingly difficult. Respondents also said they couldn't guarantee the same quality of care for uninsured patients as that given to insured patients.
