Principals' quick inspections boost academic experience

Principals at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina have been sprinting through their schools' classrooms each day for three-minute inspections to evaluate teacher and student performance. Principals agree that "The Three-Minute Classroom Walk-Through" technique might sound like it is too short to be effective, but the quick, daily pop-ins -- which don't substitute for longer meetings -- have helped teachers improve their academic approaches and relationships with supervisors, studies have found.
