Medical device makers to comply with new IEC standard

A new International Electrotechnical Commission standard, IEC 62353, Medical Electrical Equipment, Recurrent Test and Test After Repair of Medical Electrical Equipment, requires medical device makers to conduct several tests that would guarantee the safety of electromedical devices. The testing requirements of the new standard include earth bond testing, insulation resistance test and leakage testing.
