Canadian pilots worry about laser beams pointed at cockpits

Canada's transportation authority is reporting 62 cases so far this year of laser beams being shined into airplane cockpits -- nearly triple the number reported in all of 2007. With six such incidents in just the past week at Montreal Trudeau International Airport, some pilots fear a growing trend. "We don't want this to become a bigger hobby -- a bigger, stupid hobby," says a spokesman for the Air Canada Pilots Association.
