L.A. Times editorial board calls for new district superintendent

After four years at the helm of Los Angeles schools, retired Vice Adm. David L. Brewer has not displayed the necessary political or educational insight to reform the troubled district, writes the Los Angeles Times editorial board. Rather than waste any more time, the Los Angeles school board should "chart a graceful course for his departure" and hire someone who is a better fit for the position, the board writes.
