SEC vote expected on credit-rating rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to vote next week on rules that would limit conflicts of interest at credit-rating firms. Ratings companies would be barred from having the same officials negotiate fees with clients and then rate the debts of those clients under the rules. More substantial changes, however, are not expected in the near term.
