COPD telemedicine program reduces hospital visits

Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who enrolled in the iCare Health Buddy telemedicine program had 46% fewer unscheduled hospital visits. Researchers said the wireless device asks patients health status questions and measures vital signs, sending the information to nurses who quickly respond to any problems.
