Genworth to recover $85 million in taxes

Genworth Financial said Thursday that it expected to recover about $85 million in taxes because of new legislation. The new law lengthens the carryback period for certain net operating losses to five years from two years. Most of the recovered funds will go to the mortgage-insurance division, the company said.
