Nursing school gets grant for maternal health program

Emory University's nursing school will use an $8.1 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for a program to reduce deaths during childbirth for mothers and babies in rural Ethiopia. Four students in the school's doctoral program will spend at least six weeks in the country working on the program, which is to include a community-based approach to maternal and newborn health.
