Researchers are testing virus-based osteoarthritis treatment in horses

Researchers at the University of Florida are using specially engineered viruses to deliver restorative proteins to the joints of horses with osteoarthritis. Experiments on mice were successful and researchers hope their work with horses, whose knees are similar in size to humans, will help get them FDA approval for human trials.
