BASF starts operations at Ohio advanced battery materials facility

BASF has opened a production facility in Ohio that will supply nickel-cobalt-manganese cathode materials for batteries used in electric and hybrid vehicles. The commercialized technology the plant will use was developed by Argonne National Laboratory. "This area now has an opportunity to lead the world in specialty materials for advanced energy," said Frank Bozich, president of BASF's catalysts unit.
