Glass recycling returns to Alaska city

Central Recycling Services of Anchorage, Alaska, is restarting a glass-recycling program that was ended in 2009. The company will operate a facility in the city at which residents can drop off bottles and glass that will be turned into gravel to be used in pipe bedding, trench backfill and other construction projects. "When we start this up again, we want it to last," said Kauai Alpha, recycling director for Central Recycling Services.
