Epidermal thickness and neocollagen formation increased after multiple resurfacing sessions using Er:YAG fractional laser or a single ablative Er:YAG laser treatment, but changes in epidermal thickness, elastin and tropoelastin were more significant after ablative treatment in a 12-patient study.
