AAMC names states with most, least active physicians

Data from the Association of American Medical Colleges' 2013 State Physician Workforce Data Book revealed Massachusetts had the highest number of active physicians per 100,000 people at 421.5, followed by Maryland at 364.6 and New York at 348.9. Mississippi had the smallest number of active doctors at only 180.8 per 100,000 people, while Idaho, Arkansas and Wyoming were also among states with the lowest numbers of active physicians.
