King developers conducted multiple experiments on Facebook en route to making Candy Crush Saga the hit it is today, Brendan Sinclair writes. Making the game approachable was a key to attracting 100 million daily active users, King's Tommy Palm says. "I can't overestimate how important [approachability] is. When you work with a game, you become very blind to how easy it is to know it. ... People need innovation in small iterations. One step at a time is how you have to innovate for broad demographics," he notes.
