New ACO to be launched in Texas in 2015

A statewide accountable care organization in Texas will be formed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Tenet Healthcare through the latter's Integrated Care Networks. The ACO, which will be launched on Jan. 1, 2015, will leverage an unspecified, non-fee-for-service reimbursement method to boost the patient experience. "Tenet has a long history of successful collaborations with physicians and payers, and this arrangement will capitalize on the physician-led organizations that have developed robust clinical programs to improve care delivery across the service continuum," said Tenet Chief Managed Care Officer Clint Hailey.
