Polymer-based vascular embolization device receives FDA approval

The FDA has cleared EndoShape to market its Medusa Vascular Plug for use during venous and arterial embolization procedures. The polymer-based device is introduced into the peripheral vasculature via a catheter; because the device is not made of metal, it allows physicians to obtain better CT scans of the procedure area.
