Retail landlords, other companies rush to aid typhoon survivors

Retail landlords in the Philippines are working to aid survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan. The SM group has established a $2.3 million fund for food and supplies and reconstruction efforts. Ayala Land, the other major retail landlord in the country, is accepting donations at its shopping centers. In the U.S., shoppers at General Growth Properties centers are encouraged to donate to the American Red Cross through Red Cross signs posted across the centers; the company's centers' websites also link directly to the GGP/Red Cross Giving page.
