Some schools in 5 states to extend instructional time

A second group of schools are expected today to join other high-poverty schools in Connecticut, Colorado, Massachusetts and New York that have expanded instructional time under the Time for Innovation Matters in Education Collaborative. Schools in Tennessee also are expected to join the initiative -- adding an additional 300 hours of instructional time for such things as personalized learning through technology and lessons in world culture, health and foreign languages.
