Teachers, students embrace YouTube as educational resource

Spurred in part by YouTube EDU, a growing number of school districts, including Chicago and Broward County, Fla., are eliminating bans on the video-sharing website in favor of using it for educational purposes. Even before school districts embraced the site, data show that students already were accessing educational content on YouTube, with views of educational videos over the summer increasing significantly between 2011 and 2013.
