Traceability to be a top consumer food trend

Origins of food is predicted to be a top consumer trend in 2014, according to Innova Market Insights. Product launches featuring "origin" claims were up 45% globally in the first half of 2013, and cheese, which represents 11.1% making origin claims, tea with 4.7% and chocolate with 4.5% are the top products leading the origin trend. Increased attention to food safety will also drive the traceability trend.
