U.S. soon will be world's biggest oil producer, IEA says

The U.S. will outstrip Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the world's top oil producer by 2015 because of surging output from shale formations, according to the International Energy Agency. Over the next 20 years, the U.S. will come close to total energy self-sufficiency, the Paris-based IEA said.
