Why supply chain leaders should go old school

Emerging distributors and technology companies have much to learn from old-school distributors that already have made a mark in the industry, Suzanne Deffree writes. While Gartner's recent list of 50 leading supply chain companies is dominated by modern distributors and logistics firms such as Amazon, Deffree suggests it's a good idea to pick up some tips from time-tested distributors such as Avnet. "[A]s we broaden our view of what it means to be a supply chain leader, the Amazons, Costcos, and Krafts of the world should be taking notes on how old-school distributors run their business," Deffree writes.
