British journal calls for end of celebrity endorsements of certain snack foods

The Lancet is calling on British lawmakers to ban athletes and other celebrities from endorsing foods that may cause obesity in children. The Department of Health said it has no plans to enact such legislation, and the Food and Drink Federation said it has strict standards when advertising products to children.
