Rising NAEP math scores hearten educators

The incorporation of guidelines from the National Council of Teachers of Math into state curricula is being credited for the surge in math scores in the just-released National Assessment of Educational Progress. The test, frequently called "the nation's report card," was given last February to 686,000 students at 13,600 schools nationwide.
