Sullivan: The hypocrisy behind the Haggard cover-up


Blogger Andrew Sullivan draws parallels between the Vatican cover-up of the priest scandal and the revelation that evangelical leaders may have known about anti-gay movement leader the Rev. Ted Haggard's closeted homosexuality, but said nothing to his congregation about it. "And people wonder why voters put corruption and ethics at the top of their concerns in this election; and why white evangelicals abandoned the GOP in such large numbers," he writes.
