Caribbean still has some relatively uncharted islands

Although many of the islands in the Caribbean have been overrun by tourists, cruise ships and knickknack shops, there still are a few islands that offer pristine beaches and loads of sunshine without the crowds. "Many spots in the Lesser Antilles, like the Windward Islands (home to Dominica and Grenada), are not as popular as destinations like the Bahamas, Caymans and Virgin Islands," said William Travis, editor of Frommer's Caribbean travel guide book. "These may take longer to get to from the mainland U.S., but then you're rewarded with a more intimate experience."
