Inhaler safety results differ between independent, company trials

Independent studies on inhaled corticosteroids are more likely to find adverse side effects than company-funded trials, a review of more than 500 studies found. Randomized clinical trials not funded by drug companies were two and a half times as likely to find such side effects, indicating that the study design may influence findings about the treatment's adverse effects.
