Downturn hits New Zealand's book retailers

The global financial crisis and ensuing economic downturn has hit everything from cars to widescreen TVs, and now New Zealand's book retailers are suffering. "Books have always been said to be recession-proof," publisher Kevin Chapman said. "But this year may show that that is not specifically the case."
