Malls go green

Skylights, recycled water, recycling programs and rainwater harvesting are becoming commonplace at shopping malls in the Philippines as green building catches on. Some are newly developed malls, but others have been retrofitted with more efficient technologies to save on electricity. "Being more environment friendly costs a bit more in terms of investment, but reduced utility charges more than makes up for the initial investment," said a spokesperson at one of the malls.
