October jet fuel prices reach lowest level of 2008

The price of jet fuel plunged to an average of $2.32 a gallon in October, according to the Air Transport Association, a drop of more than 25% from September levels. The new figures mark the first time in seven months that fuel cost less than $3 a gallon, though some airlines continue to pay above-average prices due to hedging contracts.
