Family history increases risk of atrial fibrillation, study says

People who have a close family member with atrial fibrillation had a 40% higher risk of developing the disease compared with those who are not closely related to an AF patient, a study suggests. The risk further increases for those whose relatives suffered from AF before age 65, the researchers found.
