Panel to advise Energy Department on efficiency, renewables

The Department of Energy has formed a panel of 19 independent experts to review the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, which oversees research on innovative technologies. The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Advisory Committee will help address issues such as "completion of long-range plans, priorities and strategies; program funding; and any issues of specific concern expressed by the secretary of energy or the assistant secretary for EERE," the Energy Department said.
